Perioperative ICD/Pacemaker Management – Note Template

• ICD detection may be suspended by magnet as needed

• External defibrillation equipment should be immediately available in the procedure area

• Patient should be on a cardiac monitor through procedure and recovery

• Recommend continuous blood pressure monitoring

• Because of interactions with monitoring, ventilation, and other impedance monitoring operative devices, consider inactivating minute ventilation sensors
