ICD/Pacemaker Interrogation Tips, Note Template and Perioperative ICD management Tips

PBLSTOP method for device interrogation

  • Presenting rhythm: Paced/sensed/dependent
  • Battery status: Voltage, check ERI voltage limit => charge time and date
  • Lead status (Atrial, ventricular and voltage impedances)
  • Sensing: _ mV
  • Threshold:   a. Atrial      b. Ventricular
  • Observations/Events/Diagnostics
  • Programming: Make programming changes as necessary and Print

Perioperative ICD/Pacemaker Management – Note Template

• ICD detection may be suspended by magnet as needed

• External defibrillation equipment should be immediately available in the procedure area

• Patient should be on a cardiac monitor through procedure and recovery

• Recommend continuous blood pressure monitoring

• Because of interactions with monitoring, ventilation, and other impedance monitoring operative devices, consider inactivating minute ventilation sensors
